I've been advised by my local Trading Standards office that we have a duty to include within our Terms and Conditions, the minimum requirements as set out in UK consumer protection legislation.

However, by doing so, it may make our terms and conditions appear to be "official" and unfriendly.

So ... as we want you to be really happy with everything you buy from us and hope that you'll want to return to our web site and buy from us again in the future - and tell all your friends about our site too - please remember this...

If you experience any problem whatsoever with anything you buy from us, please don't hesitate to get in touch and I'll do everything I can to work with you to resolve the issue to your satisfaction.

  1. About us

    This website is owned and operated by Martin & Helen Hughes, trading as Created For You. If you need to contact us, please do so by email, telephone or post - you'll find all the necessary contact details here.

  2. General

    All orders are subject to these terms and conditions unless otherwise specified and agreed in writing by us. When you place an order it is assumed that you have accepted these terms and conditions.

    Please read these terms carefully, and print and keep a copy of them for your reference.

    Please note that we can only supply goods for delivery to addresses within the United Kingdom.

    Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to affect your legal rights.

    We reserve the right to cancel orders which do not comply with any or all of these terms and conditions.

  3. Making a Contract with us

    Online Orders

    When you place an online order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an email to confirm that we have received and accepted your order. A contract will then be in place. Payment will be taken electronically at the same time.

    Please ensure that you provide a valid email address when prompted to do so during the ordering process to ensure that you receive the necessary confirmation.

    Ordering by Post

    When you place an order with us by post, without first confirming availability by telephone or email, you are making an offer to buy goods. When we receive your order we will check availability of the items you require. If any of the items are no longer available we will advise you accordingly and we will, therefore, be unable to accept your order for that/those item(s). There will be no contract between us and we will not take payment from you for that/those item(s).

  4. Description and Suitability of Goods

    Every care has been taken to ensure that each item shown on our website is accurately described and illustrated. All sizes/weights quoted are approximate. We reserve the right to amend this information at any time.

    Unless otherwise stated, goods are not suitable for children under 3 years of age, normally due to the presence of small parts. Manufacturers' recommended ages are shown against each product where available.

    It is for you to decide whether particular items are suitable for use by the children concerned, under adult supervision where necessary, and to ensure that products are used sensibly and as originally intended by the manufacturer.

  5. Pricing of Goods

    All prices quoted on our website are in UK pounds sterling. Please see note 8 below about delivery charges.

    We reserve the right to amend the prices shown on our website at any time but prices will not vary on an order once that order has been accepted by us.

  6. How to Place an Order


    For full details on how to order online please read these instructions. You'll also find further help notes as you proceed through the Shopping Cart system. All notes and instructions are provided in English.

    Once you reach the point where you are asked to enter any of your personal details, all pages are secure - both in the Shopping Cart and with our Payment Provider. All online payments are processed securely.

  7. Payment

    Full payment must be received by us at the time of ordering and ownership and title of all goods remain with us until all funds have cleared.

  8. Delivery

    Delivery Charges

    Delivery is free on any order with a total value over £9.99.

    A small order charge of an additional £2.50 will be applied automatically to orders with a total value of £9.99 or under and will be displayed in the Shopping Cart before you proceed to the Payment Page. This charge covers not only delivery but packaging and handling as small orders are particularly expensive to process.

    Despatch and Delivery

    We aim to despatch all orders within 2 business days of order confirmation. For this purpose, business days are Monday to Friday inclusive, excluding public holidays. If the despatch of any item is likely to be delayed, for whatever reason, we will notify you accordingly.

    Goods can only be delivered to addresses in the United Kingdom.

    We will arrange delivery only to your UK home address or to an alternative UK delivery address as stated on your order.

    Please always quote the full postcode for the delivery address in order to avoid unnecessary delays.

    Any special delivery instructions must be set out clearly on or with the order.

    If you wish to add or amend any instructions after submitting your order, please contact us immediately by email.

    Orders will be despatched via Royal Mail using the most appropriate and cost-effective service available. Royal Mail normally deliver within 2 to 3 working days after despatch. Larger parcels sent by Royal Mail Standard Parcel post are normally delivered within 3 to 5 working days after posting.

    Wherever possible, we will notify you by email when your goods have been despatched so that you will know approximately when to expect their arrival. Please ensure that you provide your correct email address on your order to enable us to do this.

    If the goods are lost or damaged in transit, or if there are any other problems with the items you receive, please let us know promptly, preferably by email. We will make every effort to rectify any issues quickly. Damaged goods should be retained until we advise you on how to proceed.

    If you require delivery within a short timescale, please contact us by telephone or Email before you place your order and we will do all we can to assist.

  9. Cancellation and Returns

    You can cancel your contract at any time up to 7 working days after the day of delivery. To do this, please email us or write to us.

    You do not have to give any reason for cancellation. However, a brief explanation may help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future.

    If you cancel, you must return the goods to us at your own expense within 14 days of receiving them. You must ensure that the goods are returned to us complete, in their original packaging, in saleable condition and are packaged adequately for posting, preferably in their original outer packaging, to protect against damage.

    We will refund your original payment for the returned item(s) within 30 days of receiving your cancellation notice.

    If you fail to return the goods, we will collect them, and we will charge you the direct cost of collection. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us, and this results in damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the reduction in value.

    This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights - for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.

  10. Faulty Goods

    If there is a problem with the goods, please contact us. We will deal with the matter in accordance with your legal rights.

    Damaged or faulty goods must be retained for inspection and returned to us if requested. In this instance, we will reimburse the cost of returning the goods by the most cost-effective method available and which we have agreed in advance - eg. we will not reimburse Courier, Royal Mail First Class or Special Delivery charges when Royal Mail Second Class or Standard Parcel services are adequate.

    You will be given the option of either a refund, replacement or exchange, subject to availability at that time.

  11. Changes to these Terms and Conditions

    These terms were updated on 4 March 2012 (see previous terms and conditions here).

    These terms apply to your order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply to future orders.
